One per conference

Conference Belts

The same lineal rule as the real belt — you catch it by beating the holder — run separately for every FBS and FCS conference, counting only games between two members of that ONE conference, at the time they actually played (so realignment moves a team’s games with it, the way it should). A conference that stopped playing keeps its belt with its last holder, closed on the day the league dissolved; a league that only changed its name keeps one belt under its current name.
