Recap

Notre Dame dominated Stanford for three quarters, building a commanding 42-6 lead behind a high-powered offense that scored six touchdowns before halftime. The Irish offense was relentless in the first half, with J.Love and J.Price punching in early touchdowns, followed by a spectacular 84-yard touchdown pass from J.Burnham to L.Talich, and A.Williams adding two more scores to give Notre Dame a 35-3 halftime advantage. Stanford mounted a desperate fourth-quarter comeback led by backup quarterback C.Mirer, scoring twice in the final period to make the final score 49-20, but it came far too late to threaten the outcome. Notre Dame's dominance in time of possession and third-down conversion efficiency (11-18 vs. Stanford's 8-19) proved decisive in claiming the College Football Belt.

Notre Dame's two early first-quarter touchdowns (J.Love and J.Price rushing scores) set the tone for a dominant performance
The 84-yard Burnham-to-Talich touchdown pass in Q2 exemplified Notre Dame's offensive explosiveness
Notre Dame's 35-3 halftime lead effectively decided the belt, as Stanford never seriously threatened despite late fourth-quarter scores
A.Williams' 51-yard rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter put the game completely out of reach
