Recap

Alabama dominated Florida from start to finish to successfully defend the College Football Belt with a convincing 31-6 victory. The Crimson Tide struck first with Jeremy Shelley's 28-yard field goal in the first quarter, then took control in the second quarter with three touchdowns in rapid succession: Mark Ingram's 6-yard rushing touchdown, another Ingram score from 1 yard out, and a 19-yard touchdown pass from Marquis Maze to Michael Williams. Florida's only response came on a 39-yard field goal by Chas Henry late in the second quarter and a 21-yard field goal by Henry in the third quarter. Alabama put the game away with C.J. Mosley's 35-yard interception return for a touchdown in the third quarter, effectively ending any hope of a Gators comeback. Florida's offense was plagued by turnovers throughout, with four interceptions that continually stalled their drives and handed Alabama scoring opportunities.

Mark Ingram's two rushing touchdowns in the second quarter (6 yards and 1 yard) quickly extended Alabama's lead to 17-0 and put the game out of reach
C.J. Mosley's 35-yard interception return for a touchdown in the third quarter sealed the victory and demonstrated Alabama's defensive dominance
John Brantley's four interceptions, particularly the early ones in the second quarter, prevented Florida from mounting any offensive threat and directly led to Alabama scoring opportunities
