March 2008 -- As Missouri awaits the opportunity to defend The Belt, we offer the first College Football Belt Tournament of Champions.  Thanks to the outstanding work of the team at WhatIfSports.com, we offer the first ever Belt TOC.  What If Sports does an excellent job of creating software that allows users to match-up teams of the past.  This SimMatch-Up program offers a way for us at the College Football Belt to have our champions battle for the ultimate prize.  We hope to have a battle of all the champions in Belt history in the future but we start by having the champions since 1996 battle for the TOC title on the simulated field.  We have ranked the 32 teams that have held the title since 1996 & brought them to a bracket for their chance at history.  Holding to the central theory behind The Belt, each game will be played just once as we believe that you defend The Belt every time you take the field.  We considered playing a series of each match-up to determine the bracket winner but that is not what The Belt is about.  Using the software available at What If Sports, each match-up is played only once which may cause some upsets but that is what we love about college football.  As everyone knows, these list are created to generate interest & conversation.  We love to hear feedback on the champions & encourage you to provide your view as well.  Please use our blog we have added to offer your comments on the simulated match-ups.
