The 2-7 Vanderbilt Commodores with coach Bobby Johnson met the top-ranked, 8-0 Florida Gators & coach Urban Meyer.  The Gators used a balanced offensive attack as well as a stifling defense to post a methodical 27-3 win over the Commodores.  After both teams struggled to move the ball early in the 1st quarter, Florida drove to the Vanderbilt 10-yard line & PK Caleb Sturgis kicked a 27-yard field goal with 1:00 left in the opening quarter.  Just before the quarter ended, Gators' LB Ryan Stamper intercepted a pass from Commodores' QB Mackenzi Adams & returned the pick 18 yards to the Vanderbilt 34-yard line.  On the fourth play of the 2nd quarter, Florida's RB Jeff Demps took a pitch around right end for a 25-yard touchdown run giving the Gators a 10-0 lead.  Florida used their next drive to move 45 yards to the Commodores' 28-yard line & Sturgis kicked a 45-yard field goal pushing the lead to 13-0 which was the lead at intermission.  Vanderbilt's first drive of the 3rd quarter was highlighted by a 30-yard run from Commodores' RB Warren Norman that eventually set-up a 32-yard field goal from PK Ryan Fowler but those would be Vanderbilt's only points of the afternoon.  The Gators responded with an 11-play, 64-yard touchdown drive with All-SEC QB Tim Tebow getting the touchdown on a 1-yard run for a 20-3 Florida advantage as the 4th quarter started.  When Commodores' P Brett Upson inadvertently touched his knee down as he received the snap for another punt, the Gators took possession at Vanderbilt's 13-yard line.  Four plays later, Tebow connected with WR David Nelson on an 8-yard touchdown pass for the final points.  Tebow finished with 208 yards passing with a touchdown & All-American TE Aaron Hernandez had 7 catches for 120 yards while Adams threw for 100 yards with an interception.  Florida finished the season 13-1, ranked 3rd nationally while the Commodores finished 2-10.  Vanderbilt would play for The Belt again 2010.
